Advantages
Accuracy
The ccnter runout of 0.02 to 0.03 mm in the conventional center has been improved to a maximum of 0.003 mm, as in the case of the standard type. This improvement permits the center to be used in precision machining which could not be done by the conventional bevel type center. The accuracy of workpieces has been improved with beautifully machined surfaces.
Configuration
The bevel conter itself is designed as a bearing, and the tapered section is designed to have a large size without the utilization of inner and outer races. This design considerably increases the durability against the load.
Construction
The oil seal is used at the contact section of the tapered shaft while the O-ring is used at the tip end of the conical and enclosed sections of the cap. Since they are fully enclosed, it is possible to prevent the oil leakage or the intrusion of the dust, coolant and chips from the outside.
Machining
SuJ2 (bearing steel) is used for the conical section and tapered section. It is treated to have the same hardness as the bearing (Rockwell hardness of C60?K to 63?K), and is precision machined.
Maintenance
The use of the special grease minimizes consumption and eliminates the need for replenishment.
Use
This center is effetively used to cut the thin or cylindrical workpieces in addition to pipeshaped workpieces. It permits uninterrupted operation by using the special jig.
